A single storey family home in Coombs, in Canberra's Molonglo Valley. From the street, the home leads with an angled skillion roofline that lifts over the entry, carried on a timber clad feature wall between crisp white render and a dark timber look garage door. It is a simple, confident facade that stands out in the streetscape without shouting.

The plan is built around easy indoor outdoor living. The kitchen runs as a long galley with timber overhead cabinets, stone benchtops and a glass splashback, and a servery window that slides open to the covered alfresco deck, with pass through entertaining straight from the bench. Around it sit several distinct living zones: a formal lounge with a recessed television nook, a big tiled family room opening to the garden, and a fitted home office with built in joinery.

The wet areas carry the same considered contrast as the facade: a main bathroom in charcoal feature tile with an inset bath and frameless shower, and an ensuite with twin basins and dual shower heads. Outside, the yard is finished and low maintenance: paved entertaining, easy care turf and a clear outlook across the valley. Alessandro oversaw the build personally from slab to handover.
